Triclosan IMPORTANT Information

Gathered some IMPORTANT information on Triclosan.  Please read and share!
"The FDA has just issued a warning this week noting that they will be putting a ban on triclosan—a common antibacterial agent used in soaps, detergents, toys, cosmetics, and toothpaste. Apparently, the chemical poses a high-degree of health risks and side effects. Colgate Total is just one of many products that list triclosan as an active ingredient.
“Based on scientific evidence, the balance of benefit and risk is favorable for these products,” Andrea Fischer, an FDA Spokesperson, said of the announcement.
“The dangers of triclosan (and a related antibacterial chemical, triclocarban) are many,” the Natural Resource Defense Council said in a statement. “For starters, it’s an endocrine disruptor, meaning it interferes with important hormone functions, which can directly affect the brain in addition to our immune and reproductive systems.”
“Specifically, the chemical disturbs thyroid, testosterone, and estrogen regulation, which can create a host of issues including early puberty, poor sperm quality, infertility, obesity, and cancer,” the statement continues. “Studies have also shown it can lead to impaired learning and memory, exacerbate allergies, and weaken muscle function. The impacts of prolonged exposure during fetal development, infancy, and childhood can be particularly severe, resulting in permanent damage.”
Please pass this information on and be sure to go through your toiletries."

"Triclosan outlawed in Minnesota in May of 2017...Triclosan poses a risk of resistance to bacteria..,"

"The FDA report raised concerns that the chemical could cause cancer..... In addition to cosmetics and Colgate toothpaste, triclosan is used in antiperspirants/deodorants, cleansers, and hand sanitizers as a preservative and an anti-bacterial agent. It also serves as an antibacterial agent in laundry detergent, facial tissues, and antiseptics for wounds, as well as a preservative to resist bacteria, fungus, mildew, and odors in other household products that are sometimes advertized as “anti-bacterial.” These products include garbage bags, toys, linens, mattresses, toilet fixtures, clothing, furniture fabric, and more. In fact, triclosan was first registered as a pesticide in 1969.... Researchers stated that the effects of the chemical on cardiac function were “really dramatic.” Heart muscle function was reduced by 25 percent. researchers also exposed individual human muscle cells to a dose of the chemical typical to what most people would experience in everyday life. They found that this disrupted muscle function and caused heart and skeletal muscle failure..."

"Triclosan has been associated with a higher risk of food allergy... Additionally, triclosan concentrations have been associated with allergic sensitization, especially inhalant and seasonal allergens, rather than food allergens.. Triclosan was patented in 1964 and was introduced the next year, mainly for use in hospitals, and was in worldwide production and use by the early 1970s..."

"In three separate studies, the researchers showed that the chemicals -- triclosan and triclocarban -- have potential to affect sex hormones and interfere with the nervous system.
They also may become suspects in the search for causes of autism."

My Review ~ Viva Labs ADVANCED Probiotics

Viva Labs ADVANCED Probiotics, 50 Caps, 25 Billion CFU, BioXtend Technology for Targeted Release and Increased Absorption
I really like these probiotics. I've been having intestinal issues for many months and was told to try probiotics. I tried a different brand first, but the dosage was low and I had to take 4 per day. With these Viva Labs ADVANCED probiotics, I take only have to take one each day. They are small capsules which makes them easy to swallow; and I have noticed a definite difference in the way I feel in the 25 days I've been taking them.
